Nephrology
The Nephrology Research Laboratory represents an integration group between the Division of Nephrology (University Hospital Zürich) and the Institute of Physiology. The focus of the laboratory is to elucidate the pathophysiological mechanisms of renal diseases, using basic science tools such as cell biology, immunology, molecular biology, and animal experimentation with renal disease models.
The current projects include the following:
Discovery of therapeutics and biomarkers to develop individualized treatment for polycystic kidney disease (PKD).
(Group leader PD Dr. Andreas L. Serra)
Mechanisms and models of allograft rejection and tolerance induction
(Group leader Prof. Thomas Fehr)
Mechanisms and Models of renal and peritoneal injury
(Group leader: Prof. Dr. med. Stephan Segerer)
